Little Light, Polka Dot Poems and Saturdays at the Imaginarium among National Poetry Day 2021 recommendations

The Forward Arts Foundation has just published its annual list of recommended reads for National Poetry Day. The 2021 list features forty-three inspiring new poetry books from twenty-six publishers. The selection is the Foundation’s biggest yet, reflecting the vibrancy of poetry publishing, particularly from small presses which make more appearances on the list than ever before.

We’re thrilled to be one of those small presses, with three of our titles included in the list of 12 recommendations for children -

Little Light, a verse novel by Coral Rumble: “an inventive and evocative story of Ava, a young girl facing challenges in her daily life, and how she overcomes them.”

Polka Dot Poems, written by Zaro Weil and illustrated by Lucy Wynne: “a joyful and exuberant book of 100 simple, yet highly evocative, haiku based on the natural world.”

Saturdays at the Imaginarium, wriiten by Shauna Darling Robertson and illustrated by Jude Wisdom: “an imaginative and highly original collection which asks big questions about how we think about ourselves, each other and the world.”
