Nominations for the 2021 CILIP Carnegie & Kate Greenaway Medals include 'This Rock, That Rock' and 'Clouds Cannot Cover Us'
Nominations have just been announced for the 2021 CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals. The CILIP Carnegie Medal is awarded to a book written in English for children and young people that creates an outstanding reading experience through writing, while the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal recognises a book that creates an outstanding reading experience through illustration.
We’re thrilled that two Troika poetry titles are among the nominees.
Our hearty congratulations to Jay Hulme, whose debut poetry collection for young adults, Clouds Cannot Cover Us, is nominated for the Carnegie Medal, and to Dom Conlon and Viviane Schwarz for This Rock, That Rock, which is nominated for both the Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals.
Next steps
Each nominated book will now be read by every member of the 2021 judging panel. From these nominations, the panel will decide the long and shortlists and finally, the 2021 Medal winners.
