Debra Bertulis
Author
Debra’s poems - about family life and school - appear in many anthologies as well as on the LAMDA examination syllabus.
When she’s not writing poetry books, Debra can be found in primary schools across the country, inspiring children to enjoy poetry and to create their own.
She has also given performances and workshops in libraries, dementia units and at the famous Poetry Pharmacy in Shropshire.
Debra says, “Visiting schools is joyous, I love working with children of all abilities: children who love poetry and would love to learn a variety of techniques and poetry styles, children who’ve never before written a poem, children who lack confidence in their writing or find literacy hard. My nurturing approach means that every child leaves my workshops feeling proud of themselves and with confidence.”
Debra’s debut collection of children’s poetry, Where Do Wishes Go, was published in 2022. The Moon’s Gorgonzola is her second.
